World Book Day
Wed 12 Mar 2025Last Friday we celebrated World Book Day at Minet Infant & Nursery. It was a day filled with books and stories and wonderful costumes, with children dressing as their favourite character from a story.
Parents/carers for all children were invited in to share a story with their child at drop off, after which there was a day jam-packed with activities.
Nursery children were treated to stories from a range of different adults through the school, whilst Reception children went on a fascinating animal story hunt thanks to Freshwater Theatre. Year 1 and Year 2 were visited by Ruth Quayle, a famous author, who ran an engaging workshop for them and stayed behind to sign books. Year 1 and Year 2 also had a story carousel, where they heard four different stories and completed four different activities linked to these.
All in all, it was a wonderful day that encouraged reading for pleasure across the school!
