Our Vision and Aims

‘Our vision for the school is ‘Raising Aspirations’ to create the best life chances for each pupil.’

We have high aspirations for all our children. We want them to aim high and fulfil their potential so that they are provided with the best possible life chances and are able to take advantage of the opportunities the world has to offer. We want all children to become happy, confident, independent, life-long learners who are equipped with a range of knowledge and skills in order to be successful in the next stage of their education and beyond. We not only value academic success but also place a strong emphasis on the social and personal development of each child with the aim of all children growing into conscientious and well-rounded individuals who value the cultural diversity of their local community and wider world. In order to achieve this, we ensure all children are provided with the best possible learning from the very beginning of their time at school so they get an excellent start to their education. We endeavour for all children to learn, develop and thrive in a safe, stimulating, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where they access a coherently sequenced, rich, broad and balanced curriculum with enrichment and high expectations at its heart. We also achieve this through promoting our values of respect, resilience and responsibility and by putting children’s rights at the centre of everything we do as part of the Unicef’s Rights Respecting Schools award.

We aim for all children:

¡To develop a love for learning and to understand the importance of hard work.

¡To become confident and articulate communicators with a growing range of vocabulary.

¡To become respectful, resilient and responsible individuals who want to make a difference to their school and wider world.

¡To master a range of skills and develop in-depth knowledge.

¡To become fluent, expressive readers who have a love for reading.
