Year 2 Road Safety Workshop
Fri 24 Apr 2026This week Year 2 learnt all about road safety with the Wizard Theatre.
We looked at how to cross the road safely and how important it is to not run when crossing the road.
The children identified reasons that might make them late to school and considered some ways to be on time so that they do not have to travel to school in an unsafe way.
Children could tell us all how important it was to wear a seatbelt in the car and how this could keep them safe.
We finished our session off with a really fun quiz in which children were asked questions about what they had learnt.

Year 1 Visit to Windsor Castle
Fri 17 Apr 2026Year 1 visited Windsor Castle, and it was an unforgettable experience. We watched the Changing of the Guards, and we especially loved the music as the band marched past. Inside the castle, we explored Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, which was incredibly detailed, and then walked through the State Apartments, where every room looked like something from a storybook. One of the best parts of the day was the Knights’ Workshop, where we had loads of fun learning and taking part in activities. It was a brilliant trip from start to finish.

OPAL Showcase Year 2
Wed 25 Mar 2026Today, we were delighted to welcome parents and carers into school for our Year Two OPAL Playday. Families had the chance to hear about our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) journey before joining their children outside for a full play session. The playground was filled with excitement as children proudly shared their favourite activities, explored new play opportunities, and demonstrated the confidence and creativity they have developed through OPAL.
The event was a fantastic celebration of play, and we were thrilled by the positive feedback from parents—many of whom commented on how much they enjoyed taking part and how valuable it was to see OPAL in action. Several have already asked when we will be running another playday!
Thank you to everyone who attended and to the Minet Infants staff who made the morning such a success. We look forward to continuing our OPAL journey together.
