  • A Space Adventure for Year 1!

    Fri 26 Jun 2026

Our Year 1 children  took part in an exciting and inspiring space workshop to enhance their learning journey about space! The session began with a fascinating look back in time, as the children discovered how humans first began exploring space. Using a fun and interactive ‘living timeline’, the children were taken on a journey through history, learning about the incredible Space Race and how it led to one of the most famous moments in history — the Moon landing. The workshop brought history to life as pupils learned about Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the Moon. They explored his journey aboard Apollo 11 and discussed why this historic mission was so important. The children were especially engaged in finding out about Armstrong’s life, from his early years to becoming a world-famous astronaut. Throughout the session, the children built their understanding of how space exploration has developed over time — from the earliest discoveries right through to that giant leap for mankind!

It was wonderful to see such curiosity, enthusiasm, and excitement as the children asked questions and shared their ideas. This memorable experience has truly sparked their interest in space, science, and history. We look forward to seeing their learning continue to grow as they explore this fascinating topic further!
