Attendance Assembly
Fri 21 Oct 2022In today's assembly, Bronze Attendance certificates were given out to all the children who achieved 100% this half term. All of these children were entered into our Half Termly attendance raffle for a chance to win a fabulous prize. Raffle winners were chosen from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Congratulations to the winners! Remember children will be entered into our next raffle if they achieve 100% next half term and will also receive a Bronze Attendance certificate and a Silver Attendance certificate for 100% attendance for the whole of the Autumn term.

Year 2 Botwell Green Library visit
Thu 20 Oct 2022This week, Year 2 children have visited Botwell Green Library. The children learnt about the services the local library has to offer and received a library card. They listened to a story and completed an activity based on the character in the story book.

Year 2 Taekwondo taster session
Wed 19 Oct 2022Year 2 children had a very exciting Taekwondo taster session lead by Taekwondo England. They learnt how to do a front kick and talked about how Taekwondo is for protecting yourself.

QPR football festival
Wed 19 Oct 2022On Friday 14th October 2022, 10 children from Year 2 had the greatest opportunity to take part in the QPR football festival. The children played football against lots of other schools and had a fantastic day. They all received a medal and some other resources like notepads.

Year 1 visit to Hayes Town
Fri 14 Oct 2022Year 1 are learning about our local area. As part of our Geography lessons, we visited Hayes Town. Children were investigating what features are human and what are physical. This visit also linked in with our computing lessons. We are finding about the technology we find inside our homes and what we find outside. During the visit, children found many ATMs and traffic lights.

Pedestrian training
Thu 13 Oct 2022The Year 1, Nursery and Reception children took part in Pedestrian training this half term here at Minet. It provided pupils with road safety skills to better enable them to safely walk to and from school with their parents and carers. It was also a lot of fun!
Atarah in Indonesia class said, ‘I liked crossing the road.’ Erwin said, ‘I was the zebra crossing.’

Year 1 visit to Minet Country Park
Sun 09 Oct 2022As part of our Geography learning about our local area, Indonesia and India class went to Minet Country Park to investigate whether there are enough bins there or not...results....yes there are!
Japan and Cambodia were finding maps in the park. Minet Country Park needs more maps!
