Year 1 Visit to Minet Country Park
Fri 11 Oct 2024This week, our Year 1 pupil visited Minet Country Park, as part of their Geographical learning. They were enquiring whether there are enough bins at the park. Most children concluded that there were not enough bins as the ones that were there, were overflowing!

KS1 Panathlon 2024
Thu 10 Oct 2024Some Year 2 children were lucky enough to take part in the Hillingdon Panathlon Event 2024. The children took part in many different sports activities to compete with other schools across Hillingdon. Our team of eight children came 1st in the KS1 category and are very proud of their achievement! They received certificates, medals and a trophy to display at school. Well done to all the children involved and thank you to the teachers who took them.

Year 2 Squash Taster Sessions
Tue 08 Oct 2024The children enjoyed a taster session learning key skills from the sport squash. They learnt a few simple rules and tactics to play the game. The children practised hitting and controlling the ball and playing against a net. All of the children enjoyed it and had fun!

Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education
Mon 23 Sep 2024Are you interested in a career in Health Care or Mental Health? Did you know that there are approximately 22,000 vacancies in the care industry in London currently?
There are a wide range of care jobs currently available from full time to part time to bank staff working full days, half days, evenings, nights and weekends including 'live in jobs'. This could be supporting adults with learning disabilities, the older generation and those with physical disabilities where they need a personal assistant. You could be a travel buddy or just offer an older person someone to talk to once a week, the list of roles is endless.
Learn Hillingdon offer Health and Social Care courses, including Mental Health from Entry 3 to Level 2. All these courses are part time, and Learn Hillingdon can introduce you to employment agencies who are looking for skilled workers.

Year 2 Geography Day
Thu 19 Sep 2024Year 2 had an amazing day for Geography Day! They recapped compass points and used key vocabulary like North, East, South and West to programme and direct their beebot. We revisited our knowledge of the United Kingdom and talked about the four countries in it and the surrounding seas. Then, we finished with a fun workshop all about the continents and oceans of the World to introduce our new learning for Year 2. The children had lots of fun and can now name the seven continents of the World!

Gold TfL Travel for Life Award for Minet
Mon 16 Sep 2024Minet Infant and Nursery School has achieved gold accreditation for the TfL Travel for Life Award. The school achieved the award for all the work it does to promote road safety awareness and active travel. There are regular lessons and assemblies about these things as well as special events which the school takes part in such as the Big Walk and Wheel. Well done to everyone for their hard work inside and outside of the school to help secure safer roads around the school and encouraging children to travel in an active way.
