  • Nursery Picnic

    Our Nursery children had a picnic today with families, along with the teachers, played a variety of games and enjoyed each other's delicious delicacies in the great weather. Thank you to everyone who came along.

  • Hillingdon Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme

    Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme is open to school-aged children (reception to year 11) who receive benefits-related free school meals. Through the Hillingdon programme of healthy food and fun activities, children and young people can develop new skills, take part in creative and physical activities, learn about food and cooking, and enjoy free nutritious meals each day.   • Year 1 visit to the Shree Jalaram Mandir & Community Centre

    Our Year 1 pupils visited the Shree Jalaram Mandir & Community Centre as part of their RE learning. They looked at artefacts and learnt about what happens in the Mandir. 

  • Nursery sports day 2024

    The Nursery children had a fantastic day on sports day. They took part in a carousel of activities which allowed them to showcase different skills that they have learnt this year. These skills included balancing, throwing, running and jumping. Thank you to all our parent/carers that have attended to support the children.  

  • Year 1 Visit to the Nest

    Our Year 1 Pupils have visited, 'The Nest,' which is an indoor climbing wall. Children were able to show off their skills by climbing as well as playing fun games with the coaches!

  • Neil Armstrong Workshop for Year 1

    Year 1 enjoyed their visit from Freshwater Theatre, exploring the life and times of Neil Armstrong; recreating the events of his journey and launching into space in Apollo 11.

  • John McDonnell visit

    For #WorldEnvironmentDay, after reading Greta and the Giants and being inspired by her message 'No one is too small to make a difference' the Year 2 children wrote a persuasive letter about Climate Change to Rt Hon Mr John McDonnell MP for Hayes and Harlington.


    We were honoured to have Mr McDonnell visit the school last week and hear some of the letters the children wrote.


    What better way for children to enjoy their right to:
    #Article 12-You have the right to give your opinion, and for adults to listen and take it seriously.
     

  • Music Appreciation Day

    On Thursday 20th June 2024 all children and staff at Minet Infant and Nursery School took part in a Music Appreciation Day.  

     

    The day was filled with a variety of activities such as making of musical instruments, learning about British musicians, creating their own music and performing for parents/ carers. Year One and Two children also took part in music lessons and experienced making music using junk in a percussion workshop. 

     

    It was a day filled with the sound of music and here are some of the responses by the children about the day: 

     

    “I like that we all made shakers using pasta, chickpea and rice.” (Reception child) 

     

    “I liked it when the mums and dads came in and we were singing to them.” (Reception child) 

     

    “I really enjoyed the drumming session this morning. We learnt different beats and came up with some of our own.” (Year One child) 

     

    “My favourite activity was drawing how Benjamin Britten’s music made me feel.” (Year One child) 

     

    “I enjoyed creating our own music on the iPad as what I created sounded familiar.” (Year Two child) 

     

    “I enjoyed that we had 3 music lessons and learning about a composer named Gustov Holst .” (Year Two child) 

  • Coffee Morning for asylum seeker and refugees parents/ carers
