  • Reception's visit to Forest Schoool

    Thu 26 Jun 2025

“I liked toasting the marshmallows on the fire!”
“It was so much fun playing in the tall trees!”

These are just a few of the wonderful comments we heard when our Reception children visited Forest School. The day was filled with exploration and joy as the children connected with nature. They experienced the excitement of safely toasting marshmallows over an open fire, den building with large branches, playing tug of war, and experimenting with transient art. It was a day full of discovery, teamwork, creativity and most importantly we made wonderful memories outdoors.

  • Teacher of the Year in a Primary School

    Wed 18 Jun 2025

Mrs Bhambra has received the Silver Award for Teacher of the Year in a Primary School at the Pearson National Teaching Awards 2025. This is a fantastic achievement as only 12 teachers have received the silver award in this category across the whole country. Mrs Bhambra is an exceptional, hard working and dedicated teacher who has had such a huge impact on not only the children in her class but across the whole school as well. We are truly lucky to have her as a teacher at Minet.

Mrs Bhambra was presented with her award on National Thank a Teacher Day by John McDonnell, the MP for Hayes and Harlington and Councillor Susan O'Brien, the Hillingdon cabinet member for Children, Families and Education. We would like to thank them very much for coming into school to present Mrs Bhambra with her award.

Congratulations Mrs Bhambra on your award!

  • Year 2 went to see Matilda The Musical!

    Wed 18 Jun 2025

The Year 2s had a fantastic time on their trip to the theatre to see Matilda! They were captivated by the amazing singing and dancing, and it really brought the story to life for them. They loved seeing the stage, sitting in the auditorium and going into London. The performance has sparked their enthusiasm and will be a great inspiration when they begin their writing back in class.

  • Year 1 visit Author / Illustrator Visit

    Fri 06 Jun 2025

Some of our Year 1 pupils met the author and illustrator Fiona Lumbers at the Beck Theatre. We loved listening to the Luna stories as well as learning to draw bugs and monsters. On the 21st and 22nd of June there will be authors and illustrators such as Alex Scheffler at the Barnes Children's Literature Festival.

  • Reception WonderDome visit

    Fri 06 Jun 2025

The children in Reception had a fantastic time exploring the WonderDome, an interactive mobile planetarium. The inflatable dome created an exciting and immersive space where the children could sit inside and look up at a projected night sky. The children were mesmerized by the stars and planets. Matt the scientist was very impressed with the children's knowledge of the solar system! The experience sparked lots of questions and it was truly memorable.

  • Year 2 Art Workshop

    Tue 03 Jun 2025

The Year 2 children enjoyed an art workshop where they created a huge group piece of art. The art is based on African Printing, and the artist Esther Mahlangu, tying in with their learning. They sketched prints based on nature, then carved into polystyrene so they could use ink and print them to create a whole year group project. It looks fabulous! See if you can spot it when you visit our school next.
