  • Year 2 Visit to London

    Fri 15 Mar 2024

Year 2 children enjoyed their visit to London. We went to visit Pudding Lane, where The Great Fire of London started and walked up The Monument. We saw amazing views of London. In the afternoon, we went to St Paul's Cathedral, which burnt down in The Great Fire and learnt about how it was rebuilt. The children showed excellent behaviour and a fantastic can do attitude when climbing the 311 steps to the top of The Monument.

  • Author Visit - Tim Knapman

    Sun 10 Mar 2024

This week, as part of our World Book Day celebrations, Tim Knapman visited us to share some of his books. He is the author of great stories such as, 'Sometimes I am Furious' and 'Superhero Mum!'

Some children had already bought his books and got them signed, whilst others were inspired to do so.

We thank Tim for such an engaging session with our pupils!

  • World Book Day

    Sun 10 Mar 2024

This week, we enjoyed another fantastic World Book Day. At Minet, reading is a priority and aim to ensure that our children “learn to read” so that they can “read to learn”. However, we also believe that if children genuinely love reading, they will read more and read better, which will increase their attainment too.

World Book Day has become an annual event where we can reading for pleasure. This year, the children took part in a host of book related activities, including dressing up as their favourite book character, parents/carers sharing books with their children, staff swapping classes to read books and to teach book-related lessons, virtual illustration sessions and also an author visit.

Thank you all for making the day such a success!

They took part in The Great Big Dance Off at The Beck Theatre in Hayes and performed amazingly. We placed 14th out of 20 school and were the youngest competitors. A fantastic achievement for all of them, we are so proud of them for going onto stage and showing off their dancing skills.
