“In RE I learnt that Hindus celebrate Diwali and they use lights to decorate their homes. The bad king who took Sita had 10 heads. We went to visit the Church and I remember learning that the Christians use Holy water and that their special book is called the Bible. I know I am a Muslim.”

“I enjoy taking Christmas celebrations and I learnt that Baby Jesus was born. When I went to the Church, I liked the stained glass windows. They have pictures of Jesus. I remember that Hindus use special candles called Divas for Diwali. My daddy came to class to celebrate Diwali and we decorated a hand with Mehndi patterns. My mum does Mehndi too. I like the smell.”

“I liked making snowman to sell for our Christmas and Winter Fayre. We have a Christmas tree in our class. We made divas from clay for Diwali. I celebrate Eid at home. For Diwali they also do fireworks.” 

Sofia (Reception) 

“For Christmas we have Christmas trees. Christmas is for everyone. It is fun. I made a Christmas card for Santa. I am a Muslim but I like Christmas too. For Diwali we celebrated in class and we did a dance and we made a light. My mum made the light with me.” 

Lima (Reception)

“I made a Christmas tree at home with my dad. I went to visit Santa. I am Sikh. I have a friend who is Muslim and his name Ahmed. We made lights for Diwali. For Christmas we get presents.” 

Kulveer (Reception) 

“I like celebrating Christmas at home. My dad celebrates Eid. We decorate the Christmas tree with my family. I am going to make a Christmas card for my family.”
