Behaviour Curriculum

At Minet Infant and Nursery School, we are proud to prioritise high standards of behaviour across all areas of school life. We believe that children learn best in a calm, safe and respectful environment where expectations are clear and consistent. Our Behaviour Curriculum and Behaviour & Relationships Policy work together to set out the behaviours we expect, teach and celebrate from Nursery through to Year 2. These documents form the foundation of our whole-school approach to behaviour and ensure that all children understand what it means to be responsible, respectful and resilient members of our school community.

Our Behaviour & Relationships Policy details how we promote positive behaviour through praise, visual systems, and shared rewards. It also sets out a clear framework for managing and responding to negative behaviours in a fair and consistent way. By focusing on relationships, emotional understanding, and proactive strategies, the policy supports staff to create classrooms where every child can succeed.

The Behaviour Curriculum outlines the key routines, values and expectations we teach explicitly to our children. It is structured progressively from Nursery to Year 2 and supports pupils in developing positive habits and self-regulation over time. The curriculum is reinforced daily and recapped each half term, with additional focus given during our “Behaviour Bootcamp” at the start of each school year.

Together, these documents reflect our commitment to nurturing kind, respectful and confident learners. We are proud to work in partnership with parents and carers to support every child in developing the behaviours that will help them thrive, both in school and beyond. Please read these documents to familiarise yourself with the expectations, routines and values that underpin behaviour across our school.
