Year 2 Taekwondo Taster Session
This week, Year 2 had the incredible opportunity to take part in a Taekwondo taster session, and they absolutely loved every moment of it! The session was led by an experienced instructor who introduced the children to the fundamental skills of Taekwondo, including basic stances, controlled kicks, and simple blocking techniques. They practiced balancing on one foot while performing front kicks, learned how to punch with precision, and discovered how to use their arms to defend themselves safely.
Beyond the physical skills, the children also learned about the core values of Taekwondo, such as respect, self discipline, and perseverance. The instructor emphasised the importance of focus and listening carefully to commands, helping the children develop both coordination and confidence. Throughout the session, they cheered each other on, demonstrating great enthusiasm and teamwork.
By the end, the children were full of excitement, eager to share their experiences and show off their new moves. It was a fantastic introduction to the sport, leaving many inspired to continue exploring Taekwondo in the future!
