World Children's Day and Shoeshare

What a fun filled day we had at Minet for World Children’s Day on Wednesday!

Children learnt about the importance of:

Article 42-You have the right to know your rights! Adults should know about these rights and help you learn about them, too.

The whole school did activities to learn that rights are for all children, everywhere. They are equal and they are connected. They cannot be denied and are your rights until you are 18 years old. From looking at the rights, to making recycled instruments and writing about their ideas for World Peace, our children showed a very mature understanding of rights and we are really proud of them!

We also took part in Shoeshare and as a school we have collected approximately 200 pairs of shoes! Well done to Cameroon class who collected 21 pairs and together we are helping more children access their right to:

Article 28-You have the right to a good quality education.

We will be taking these shoes to Clarks and also helping the environment by them being recycled and not going into landfill.
