April News

During the holidays the nursery children had some home learning to do. The children had the opportunity to grow a bean, water it and take care of it.

Look how they have grown now we are back at nursery!

This home learning was helping the children to understand that things begin to grow over time, how things change and that all living things need care in order to grow.

Thank you parents for taking time to supporting your child’s further learning. Look out for the next home learning soon!

Books = reading!

Last week we held our annual book fair and it was wonderful to see so many of you buying new books to take home and read. In assembly we learnt a new song ‘Gotta keep reading!’ Your purchases at the book fair raised £300 for new books for the school.
FOMISA have also been busy purchasing new books for our library. We had lots of large boxes arrive full of beautiful books, fiction and non-fiction, which we are now busy unpacking and putting onto our library shelves!

Hayes Town Easter Egg Hunt

We were very impressed at the skills of Minet Infant Children at the recent Hayes Town Easter Egg Hunt. We had four winner who were presented with their eggs on Friday. The children successfully identified 15 shops in their local area. Hope you enjoy your prizes….

Solving everyday problems…..

Reception children have been learning how to solve everyday problems. This week we have introduced a snack shop where they have to choose the right coin to pay for their fruit and milk. Not only have we been recognising the coins, we have also been promoting good manners by using full sentences and saying please and thank you.

A Special performance

On 26th April we were delighted to welcome four Y12 and Y13 girls from Hillingdon Music School who performed for our KS1 children as a String Quartet. Bethany-Rose Bray, Rosa Beison, Natasha Adamczyk and Harriet Ladyman entertained the children with renditions of Moon River and Palladio.
The Quartet hoped to inspire the children to share their love of music and encourage them to think about learning to play a musical instrument.
