An Inclusive School

It's an all inclusive, welcoming school. I've got three little boys who love it here and so do I.

I am delighted with the progress that my daughters have made at Minet - you have nurtured them to achieve excellent progress in key learning areas such as reading and maths.

The PE and Sports Premium

After The London Olympics and Paralympic Games in 2010, our Government was determined to secure a significant and lasting legacy from the games where they wanted to continue to inspire the nation to enjoy sports. Therefore the Government announced that a new funding of £150 million was available to schools for physical education and sport. This funding is to be used to improve the quality of PE and sports provision.

Minet Nursery and Infant School was allocated £9,191 of this funding during 2016 to 2017.

See our Sports Day montage from 2017 here.

This funding is put towards the cost of employing a full time PE Teaching Assistant. Mr Rossiter is a qualified Football and Gymnastic Coach. He leads one PE lesson for each class weekly, with the class teacher supporting and observing. This also enables us to provide a variety of daily After School Sports Clubs (Football, Multi-Sports and Gymnastics) accessible for all children.

This year we have partnered with Queens Park Rangers Community Trust to provide targeted teacher support for eight class teachers and also one to one classroom mentoring for individual children. This Primary Stars programme places a Sports Ranger in Minet Infant school for one day a week.

As part of our relationship with Queens Park Rangers Primary Programme we have also been able to provide women only Zumba classes followed by Healthy Eating workshops.

It is improving the school’s expertise in teaching a wide range of sporting skills and promotes more regular participation in physical activity by pupils. Ofsted 2014
