Happy and well-ordered

Minet Nursery and Infant School is a happy and well-ordered place. Relationships between pupils and staff are good. Children settle into the caring atmosphere of the Nursery well.

Barriers for Pupil Premium pupils

At Minet Infants we have identified a number of barriers which Pupil Premium children face through their time here. These are barriers which can impact on pupils’ attainment, progress and wellbeing, particularly in comparison to their peers.

The main barriers we have identified are:

  • arrival in school with below average attainment, especially in speech, language and communication
  • lower attendance and punctuality
  • increased risk of social and emotional difficulities
  • lacking in self-confidence
  • fewer opportunities for enrichment and wider personal development outside school

Pupil Premium Funding 2017 to 2018

During 2017 to 2018 our Pupil Premium grant was £83,107. This was allocated in the following ways;

  • one to one conferencing
  • additional teacher support
  • learning mentors
  • ipads purchase
  • teacher resource choice for specific children
